Yes, it's alive, no need to worry. :) They fly into the mist net and fall into these little pockets where they get stuck. Then our professor very carefully took it out. This is how people catch birds to band them. It doesn't hurt the bird at all, other than the occasional ruffled feather or two.

There's a great image in this photo, but it needs some more post processing. A tighter crop would be the greatest benefit to the image, a square one maybe. If you're up for some work, masking out the bird so you could increase the darker areas in the hands. Also blue tint is bad.

I see what you are saying. It would be interesting to try it out, but unfortunately I do not have any photomanip software (aside from the very basic things on PictureProject like brightness adjust and what-not). I appreciate the critique, though. =)
